Garbage and Guts

We live in a time when people think if one stands up against something or someone they've got guts.  It's all this "Nah nah na na nah na-look-at-how-bad-they-are-and-how-I-exsposed-them"-bull, that people seem to love to hear.  Itching ears maybe?  There is a place for confrontation and correction but a constant, steady diet of negativism is just totally unheathy.  I think that if one is known only for what they oppose, and the only way they get publicity is for the garbage they dig-up on someone, they've totally washed.  We need to be known what we're FOR not what we're AGAINST!  People that are living examples of all-around-good-citizens need to be upheld and praised.  "The fear of the wicked shall come apon them, but the desire of the righteous shall be granted."

IGOLD and Antidisestablishmentarianism

IGOLD1

Last Tuesday, Jenny and I went to march the streets of Springfield IL to lobby for the upholding of the 2nd ammendment.  IGOLD stands for Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day.  With about twenty five hundred other gun owners we marched through the streets of the capital city to the Capital building where we met with and gave out letters to our local representatives and senators concerning the newest onslaught of anti-American, anti-patriot, pro-communist, and pro-all-around-evil firearm legislation.

The left-wing media tries to cram down everyone's throats that more legal guns mean more illigal crime but it's not true. You look around at all the states that have legalized the right to conceal-carry and you'll see that the crime rate has gone down in those states. It could be true for IL too. The point isn't so that every joe and harry can be a wanna-be cowboy can be really cool packing a pistol. The real point is that our founding fathers wrote it into the Constitution that every law abiding citizen should have the right to defend themselves and their homes. It's in the very core of man's nature to protect himself and his home. Right now, we're sitting ducks. The police can't be everywhere. If the "bad guys" knew that there was even the slightest chance that the guy (or girl) he was about to hold up had a gun on him, he would think twice before trying anything.

It turned out to be a really good day.  A warm sunny March day of about 55F, perfect parade weather.   We had very positive reception by almost everyone we met with.  I've never been to my state capital so that was cool in itself.  All that aside we live in a very critical time in our nations history.  Things won't get better until good people stand up and say something about all the evil around us.  So get active and make some phone call or fire off and email or two and pray that the Lord will once again, Have Mercy on this Nation.

Wild Grapes

I was reading the story about God's vineyard in Isaiah chapter five this morning.  It seems like such a sad story of deep disappointment and loss.  All the effort attention invested into the hope of receiving the desired results and instead, getting something far inferior.  I was trying to imagine a scale, on which hung all the moments when the Lord is pleased with me and the time He is disappointed in me.  How would it measure?
